{"id":42,"date":"2008-01-16T21:05:37","date_gmt":"2008-01-17T03:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.schwie.com\/brad\/?p=42"},"modified":"2008-01-20T14:45:50","modified_gmt":"2008-01-20T20:45:50","slug":"niterider-digital-evolution-replacement-bulb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.schwie.com\/brad\/?p=42","title":{"rendered":"NiteRider Digital Evolution Replacement Bulb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-family: Times; line-height: normal\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: #ffffff; font: normal normal normal 1em\/1.3em Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; padding: 0.5em\">As I was pulling my bag out of the car yesterday to begin my ride, I knocked the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niterider.com\/images\/accessories\/bulbs\/1063.jpg\">headlamp<\/a> for my bike&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.niterider.com\/prod_evolutionsmart.shtml\">NiteRider Evolution Smart<\/a>, from the inside of my car, about 12 inches above the ground, to the frozen asphalt near the Stone Arch Bridge. \u00a0Unfortunately, it was unable to withstand the fall and I found the bulb cracked loose inside the housing. \u00a0Desperate calls around the Twin Cities later that day to NiteRider &#8220;dealers&#8221; yielded no replacement bulbs and only promises of 7-10 day waiting periods. \u00a0I could have purchased a 35mm replacement bulb,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.niterider.com\/store_bulbs.shtml\">Model #1063<\/a>, directly from NiteRider for about $30 with shipping included, but my Dad recommended that I call Freewheel as they have had drop in\/similar replacement bulbs that worked for him in the past. Lo and behold, he was right! They set me up with a Luks, PD23987, MR-11, dichroic, 6 volt, 15 watt, 20 degree 3200K replacement bulb that has a bluish white light and is apparently meant for NiteRider and Marwi light systems. It fits just as snug as the NiteRider one and cost significantly less (under $19 with tax).
