I’ve put time into configuring routers and need to be able to quickly\u00a0clone settings to new hardware. I was hoping to take\u00a0a working router configuration, connect it to a\u00a0PC (or device), and open a terminal session to use the following commands:<\/p>\n

cd desktop\r\n\r\nssh \u00a0root@192.168.1.1\r\n\r\ndd if=\/dev\/mtd4 of=\/tmp\/backup20160505.trx\r\n\r\nscp root@192.168.1.1:\/tmp\/backup20160505.trx .\r\nscp backup20160505.trx root@192.168.1.1:\/tmp\r\n\r\nmtd -r write backup20160505.trx art<\/pre>\n
But at the final step, my router throws up an error message that includes:<\/p>\n
Could not open mtd device: art\r\nCan't open device for writing! openwrt<\/pre>\n
