Restarts and PRAM resets don&#8217;t seem to resolve the issue, but the following steps are pretty painless and\u00a0fixed things for me:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Close System Preferences and\/or any app that was trying to use or configure any Bluetooth device with the Mac<\/li>\n<li>From the OS X Finder, hit Command+Shift+G to summon Go To Folder and enter the following path:\u00a0\u00a0\/Library\/Preferences\/<\/li>\n<li>Locate the file named \u201ccom.apple.Bluetooth.plist\u201d and delete it<\/li>\n<li>(you may see a\u00a0com.apple.Bluetooth.plist.lockfile\u00a0too, if so delete that as well \u2013 this is a system folder so you will need to authenticate with an admin user)<\/li>\n<li>Head to the Apple menu and choose \u201cShut Down\u201d to power down the Mac<\/li>\n<li>Wait a minute or so before booting the Mac again<\/li>\n<li>Head to the Bluetooth menu or System Preference panel to resync your hardware<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.developer.apple.com\/people\/Max108\">Max108<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/forums\/thread\/9011?answerId=23336022#23336022\">posting the fix<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve had a problem with the\u00a0Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro where the menu bar icon is grayed out and it is crossed out and not functioning.
